Teofimo Lopez's manager Keith Connolly recently met with Ryan Garcia's manager Lupe Valencia in San Diego, teasing an upcoming mega fight on social media. While no official agreement or matchup was announced, the meeting has fueled significant speculation about a potential bout between the two boxing stars.
A major obstacle to making the fight is Lopez's mandatory WBA title defense against Jack Catterall, with a negotiation deadline set for October 22. Because Catterall refuses to step aside, Lopez may have to vacate his WBA welterweight belt if the sanctioning body does not grant permission to pursue Garcia first.
