Right-hander Corbin Martin became a free agent Friday after the Chicago Cubs saw their season end in a National League Wild Card Series sweep by the San Diego Padres.
Right-handed pitcher Corbin Martin elected free agency on October 2, parting ways with the Chicago Cubs after their season ended. The move occurred following Chicago's elimination from the postseason in a two-game sweep by the San Diego Padres in the National League Wild Card Series.
The 30-year-old pitcher appeared in seven games for the Cubs in 2026, recording a 10.80 ERA across five innings before being outrighted to the minors. Martin's season was subsequently ended by an injury in early August, leaving him free to sign with any team.
