Two goals down. Liverpool applying pressure in the title race. Forty-five minutes remaining. Manchester United had been here

On April 25, 2009, Manchester United recovered from a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 at Old Trafford. First-half goals from Darren Bent and Luka Modrić gave Tottenham a surprise lead, but Sir Alex Ferguson brought on Carlos Tevez at the break. United responded with five second-half goals, including braces from Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, as well as a strike from former Spurs forward Dimitar Berbatov.
The comeback began in the 57th minute when referee Howard Webb awarded a controversial penalty that Ronaldo converted. The victory moved United three points clear of title rivals Liverpool at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand, ultimately paving the way for United to secure the 2008-09 league championship.
