The Montreal Canadiens mounted a dramatic four-goal comeback to secure a point in a 6-5 overtime loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After falling behind 5-1 in the second period, Montreal rallied with goals from Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Chris Kreider, and Ivan Demidov to force extra time. Tommy Novak sealed the win for Pittsburgh with his second goal of the night in overtime.
Evgeni Malkin, Declan Carlile, Samuel Girard, Novak, and Ben Kindel scored five unanswered goals for Pittsburgh following Caufield's game-opening tally. Suzuki paced the Canadiens with one goal and three assists, while Lane Hutson also provided three helpers. Goaltender Arturs Silovs earned the victory in net for the Penguins, while Jakub Dobes played in goal for Montreal.
