Canada, an undrafted rookie who had been dealing with a hamstring injury, was initially listed as questionable before being ruled out on the eve of the game at Highmark Stadium.

Canada joins starters Christian Gonzalez and Christian Barmore on the sidelines, with both key defenders previously ruled out due to shoulder injuries. In response to the defensive injuries, the Patriots elevated veteran defensive backs Kindle Vildor and Mike Brown from the practice squad for the AFC East matchup.
