Buffalo Sabres forward Jiri Kulich scored the game-winning goal with 6:40 remaining to secure a 4-3 comeback victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in Buffalo's home opener on Saturday night. The goal marked Kulich's first regular-season tally in nearly a year after missing the final 70 games of last season due to a blood clot issue.
Kulich underwent surgery at the Mayo Clinic in March after experiencing dizzy spells just 12 games into last season. Buffalo rallied from a two-goal deficit, with Rasmus Dahlin tying the game before Owen Power assisted Kulich's decisive goal. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff also trusted the 22-year-old on the ice during the final minute.
