Key Things to Know
  • Bojan Miovski was the only Scottish-based player to start in Scotland's 2-0 win over North Macedonia.
  • Scotland head coach Sebastien Pocognoli selected zero players based in the Scottish Premiership in his starting XI.
  • Scotland defeated North Macedonia 2-0, with John McGinn scoring a penalty conceded via a Miovski handball.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Rangers striker Bojan Miovski created an unusual quirk during Scotland's 2-0 Nations League victory over North Macedonia in Skopje. Scotland manager Sebastien Pocognoli selected zero Scottish-based players in his starting lineup, meaning Miovski's presence in North Macedonia's XI gave the hosts more Scottish club players than Scotland themselves.

Miovski played the full 90 minutes but conceded a penalty for handball, which John McGinn converted for Scotland's second goal. Barker argues the performance will do little to improve Miovski's standing under Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who has limited the striker to just 22 league minutes this season.
