George Russell's F1 title hopes have been crushed after a brutal ending to his Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.

George Russell suffered a major setback to his Formula 1 championship hopes after suffering a power unit failure late in the race on Sunday. Running in third place on lap 50 of 55, the Mercedes driver was forced to retire his car under safety car conditions.
Max Verstappen won the race, followed by Russell's teammate Kimi Antonelli in second and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton in third. The retirement leaves Russell 84 points behind championship leader Antonelli with only seven rounds remaining in the season.
