The verdict has been delivered in the seismic case between the Premier League and Manchester City.

Manchester City has been found guilty of nearly all 115 financial charges brought by the Premier League following a long-running independent commission hearing. The league confirmed the verdict on September 29, finding the club guilty of serious financial rule breaches across nine seasons and failing to cooperate with investigators. Manchester City has maintained its innocence and vowed to relentlessly pursue appeals against the decision, while facing potential severe punishments including expulsion.
The verdict follows a timeline starting in November 2018 with leaked internal emails published by Der Spiegel via Football Leaks hacker Rui Pinto. Although UEFA previously banned City from the Champions League before the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned it in 2020, the Premier League referred the club to an independent commission in February 2023 over allegations of inflating revenues by over £900 million.
