Michael Carrick will want to get Manchester United's season back on track when club football returns

Manchester United are reportedly scheduled to play a behind-closed-doors friendly against Swiss side Lausanne-Sport during the international break. The match against the fellow INEOS-owned club offers manager Michael Carrick an opportunity to assess his squad and test new solutions ahead of their upcoming fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on October 10. United currently sit 12th in the Premier League table after earning five points from five matches.
Meanwhile, club legend Wayne Rooney issued a public apology to striker Benjamin Sesko on his Stick to United podcast. Rooney had initially criticized the forward for missing a match against Fulham due to a shin issue, but withdrew his remarks and apologized after learning the true severity of the injury, which also ruled Sesko out of international duty with Slovenia.
