It may have been a painful for watch for Spurs as one defensive star turned in an impressive debut out on loan in Portugal.

Toby Bryant of GiveMeSport argues that Tottenham Hotspur should consider recalling defender Souza from his loan spell at Porto. The 20-year-old left-back impressed on his debut for the Portuguese side, registering an assist in a 3-1 victory against Deportivo La Coruna. With Tottenham sitting bottom of the Premier League under manager Roberto De Zerbi, Bryant believes the Brazilian could inject much-needed dynamism into the struggling squad.
Tottenham signed Souza from Santos for £13 million in January before sanctioning a loan move to Porto for the season. With veteran free-agent signing Andy Robertson starting while Destiny Udogie regains fitness, Bryant suggests Spurs should not hesitate to bring Souza back if his strong performances in Portugal continue.
