MILWAUKEE -- Matt Erickson called it. Hours before Ty France's controversial fly ball -- a potential go-ahead home run in the ninth inning that struck a cable on the roof of American Family Field -- Erickson, the Brewers' third-base coach…

Milwaukee Brewers third-base coach Matt Erickson accurately predicted that a fly ball would hit the roof cables at American Family Field ahead of NLDS Game 1. During the pregame lineup card exchange with Padres manager Craig Stammen and home-plate umpire Nick Mahrley, ground rules regarding the roof were discussed. Erickson remarked that having not seen it happen in six years, it was bound to occur that evening.
Later in the game, Padres hitter Ty France hit a fly ball in the ninth inning that struck a cable. The ball remained in play and was caught by Jackson Chourio for the second out, securing the Brewers' eventual 3-2 victory.
