The San Jose Sharks have waived Patrick Giles, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. The winger had been on non-roster injured reserve, dealing with an upper-body injury from the preseason but always expected to return to the AHL when healthy.
The San Jose Sharks have placed winger Patrick Giles on waivers, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. The 26-year-old forward had been on non-roster injured reserve due to a preseason upper-body injury and is slated to return to the AHL's San Jose Barracuda once he clears the wire.
Giles originally joined the Sharks organization in March 2025 via a trade involving goaltender Vítek Vaněček, later earning a two-year contract extension. A defensive specialist and penalty killer, Giles previously appeared in three games for San Jose last season and logged nine NHL games with the Florida Panthers.
