Penalties, missteps, injuries and mistakes doomed the Commanders during a frustrating loss to the Colts.

The Washington Commanders dropped to 1-3 after suffering a 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in London. Already missing starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, Washington suffered another major setback when backup quarterback Marcus Mariota exited in the first quarter with an MCL injury. Third-string rookie Athan Kaliakmanis entered the game, throwing for 186 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in his first regular-season action.
Costly mistakes derailed Washington throughout the contest, with head coach Dan Quinn's team committing 10 penalties for 84 yards, including an illegal shift that negated an 87-yard touchdown. Additional injuries hit the roster, as Charles Omenihu and Jaylin Lane exited early, while Terry McLaurin was ruled out prior to kickoff. Quinn expressed frustration over the team's discipline but maintained confidence in turning the season around.
