DETROIT — Clay Stevenson, the stage is yours.

Goaltender Clay Stevenson is scheduled to make his first start for the Winnipeg Jets on Monday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers last week from the Washington Capitals. Stuart Skinner had started the Jets' first two regular-season games, but head coach Scott Arniel confirmed Stevenson would take over between the pipes as Winnipeg finishes a two-game road trip.
Stevenson enters the contest with five NHL games under his belt, including his league debut at PPG Paints Arena in April 2025. With starter Connor Hellebuyck currently holding out, Stevenson has an immediate opportunity to establish himself as the team's primary backup goaltender under the guidance of goaltending coach Wade Flaherty.
