The Winnipeg Jets earned their first victory of the season by defeating the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena. Winnipeg built an early lead entirely on special teams, scoring three power-play goals. Kyle Connor scored two goals and added an assist, while Cole Perfetti also recorded three points with a goal and two helpers.
Detroit attempted a comeback with goals from Viktor Arvidsson and Emmitt Finnie to reduce the deficit to one in the third period. However, goaltender Stuart Skinner stopped 33 shots to secure his first win with the Jets, leaving Detroit still searching for their first victory.
