Atlanta Braves manager Walt Weiss confirmed that ace Chris Sale will start Game 3 of the NLDS instead of Game 2. Speaking ahead of Game 2 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Weiss explained that he wanted a full-strength Sale rather than pushing him on shorter rest after pitching in relief during Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against Philadelphia.
Weiss defended his previous relief usage of Sale against the Phillies, stating he had no regrets about the decision. Meanwhile, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ha-Seong Kim expressed confidence in the team's ability to secure a road split, while Weiss noted pitcher Ray Kerr could play a significant role out of the bullpen.
