Bayern Munich midfielder Tom Bischof expressed his gratitude for his time with the German senior national team following a 0-0 Nations League draw against Greece in Thessaloniki. The match marked manager Jürgen Klopp's fourth game in charge of Germany. Although Germany dominated with 21 shots, an apparent first-half goal by Jonathan Burkardt was disallowed by VAR due to a handball by Bischof in the buildup.
Bischof earned his second start of the international break after previously scoring in a 2-0 win over Serbia. Playing alongside Bayern teammate Aleksandar Pavlović in central midfield, Bischof impressed despite the physical, scrappy match. Despite breaking into the senior squad, Bischof affirmed his ambition to play for Germany's U-21 team at next year's U-21 European Championship.
