A sports doctor has delivered a worrying prediction on Tyquan Thornton’s injury after the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver suffered a gruesome ankle injury against…

Former NFL team doctor David Chao warned that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton likely faces an extended absence after suffering a severe ankle injury against the Las Vegas Raiders. Thornton was carted off in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs' 30-27 victory after landing awkwardly on a 55-yard reception. Chao assessed the injury as a likely fracture and dislocation, noting that dislocating an ankle without a fracture is extremely rare.
Prior to the injury, Thornton recorded six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed postgame that the injury looked concerning and stated the receiver would undergo further evaluations in Kansas City. Thornton has reportedly been ruled out indefinitely while awaiting a full diagnosis and a second opinion.
