England confirm warm-up fixture at the Waca before this winter's white-ball tour of Australia - a stark contrast to last year's Ashes defeat.

England's white-ball cricket team will play a 50-over warm-up match against a Western Australia XI at the Waca in Perth on November 7. The fixture takes place six days before their one-day international series against Australia begins. England and Wales Cricket Board chair Richard Thompson stated the scheduling shows the board has learned from preparation mistakes made prior to the previous winter's Ashes series.
The warm-up match aligns with white-ball coach Brendon McCullum's push to give his inexperienced squad match practice ahead of next year's 50-over World Cup. It also follows a reciprocal agreement between the ECB and Cricket Australia to ensure visiting teams receive improved preparation facilities and matches. England are scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20s in Australia from November 13 to December 2.
