After Monday’s practice, Jim Hiller discussed the Maple Leafs’ offensive-zone play, his patience with the line combinations, Gavin McKenna’s adjustment to the NHL, and the emphasis on getting pucks and traffic to the net during practice. What are you looking…

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Jim Hiller praised rookie Gavin McKenna's composure following Monday's practice, describing the young forward as unflappable despite an offensive dry spell through his first three NHL games. Hiller noted that McKenna is managing the spotlight well, maintaining a positive attitude, and showing flashes of elite skill, particularly during power-play situations where he creates time and space.
Hiller emphasized that the entire team is working on generating more five-on-five offense, supporting pucks in dirty areas, and driving traffic to the net. While acknowledging McKenna's adjustment to the physical demands of professional hockey, Hiller expressed strong confidence in the rookie's hockey sense to adapt alongside linemates John Tavares and William Nylander.
