Cowboys Pro Bowl guard Tyler Smith hopes to make his season debut Thursday against the Buccaneers after having surgery last month on his left thumb.

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl guard Tyler Smith is hoping to make his season debut on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after recovering from thumb surgery. The Cowboys opened Smith's practice window on Monday, where he was listed as a limited participant during the team's walkthrough while wearing a protective cast.
Smith tore his ulnar collateral ligament during a joint practice against the New Orleans Saints, which required surgery and caused him to miss the first four games on injured reserve. Meanwhile, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown could potentially return Thursday from a hamstring injury, while cornerback Cobie Durant is likely to miss his third straight game.
