Cricket supporters faced significant travel delays near BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow ahead of the first T20I between India and the West Indies. Rising water levels in the Gomti River caused knee-deep flooding, prompting traffic police to close the underpass near Gate 2. Usual five-minute journeys stretched to 45 minutes as vehicles were diverted along alternative routes.
The flooding has heightened logistical challenges for local organizers and district administrators ahead of Tuesday's series opener. In addition to traffic disruptions, rain interrupted team practice sessions on Monday, and the local meteorological forecast warns of possible daytime showers and thunderstorms before conditions are projected to improve by toss time.
