The veteran Spanish striker was out of contract but a move to Köln never materialized, instead opting to stay in the Qatari Stars League.

Former Real Madrid striker Joselu will not be joining 1. FC Köln after opting to sign with Qatari Stars League side Al Sailiya. According to reporter Matteo Moretto, the 36-year-old Spanish forward is completing a move to the Qatari outfit on a free transfer.
Joselu became a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Al Gharafa in July. Although he previously made 79 Bundesliga appearances across spells with Hannover 96, Eintracht Frankfurt, and TSG Hoffenheim, a return to the German top flight has officially fallen through.
