Aston Villa have endured a difficult opening to the season, but there have finally been signs that Unai Emery’s rebuilt side are beginning to settle.

Aston Villa have approached Sevilla regarding the availability of midfielder Lucien Agoumé, according to a report from Spanish outlet Orgullo Biri. Manager Unai Emery was reportedly impressed by the 24-year-old defensive midfielder during a recent friendly between the two sides, leading a senior Villa official to make initial contact.
While no formal bid has been submitted for a permanent transfer, Sevilla reportedly value Agoumé at £35 million and would require more than £26 million to open negotiations. Villa are seeking midfield reinforcements following a serious knee injury to Amadou Onana and a demanding domestic and European schedule.
