The All Blacks captain took to his YouTube channel to tell fans about his move.
All Blacks captain Ardie Savea has confirmed he will join the Blues for the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific season. The 32-year-old loose forward announced the transfer on a social media livestream, captioning the move as his "last dance." Savea had been without a Super Rugby franchise following the financial collapse of Moana Pasifika earlier in the year.
The signing provides a major boost for the Blues and new head coach Jason Holland after losing loose forwards Dalton Papali’i and Hoskins Sotutu overseas. Savea, who is recovering from a dislocated shoulder suffered in South Africa, will bolster the Auckland squad ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
