Austria produced a dominant performance to bring the U21 EURO qualifying campaign to a close with a resounding 7-1 victory over Cymru.

Austria defeated Cymru 7-1 at The Oval in Caernarfon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in their final UEFA Under-21 Championship Group I qualifier. Luca Weinhandl opened the scoring early, with Jacob Hödl doubling the lead before Callum Agius pulled one back for Cymru. David Puczka restored Austria's two-goal cushion just before the interval.
Austria dominated the second half, adding further goals through Oluwaseun Adewumi, Nikolaus Wurmbrand, Erik Kojzek, and an Archie Harris own goal from a Jannik Schuster header. During the match, 15-year-old substitute Noah Anyadike made history by becoming the youngest-ever player for Cymru at the under-21 level.
