Scotland suffered a 2-1 defeat to Slovenia at Hampden Park in UEFA Nations League Group B1, worsening their potential seeding route for Euro 2028 qualifying. Ryan Christie gave Sebastien Pocognoli's side a first-half lead with a 31st-minute backheel flick. However, Slovenia mounted a second-half comeback with goals from Aljosa Matko and Danijel Sturm, sealing their first-ever victory over Scotland in seven meetings.
The defeat marked back-to-back home losses for Pocognoli following a 3-0 defeat to group leaders Switzerland. Captain Andy Robertson, who was honored before kickoff for reaching 101 caps alongside former managers Gordon Strachan, Alex McLeish, and Steve Clarke, criticized the team's display, admitting they were outfought by the visitors.
