Brazilian flyweight Antonio Cesar defeated Joshua Perreira via a first-round doctor stoppage TKO at ONE Fight Night 48 on October 2 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The 22-year-old weathered an early strike before taking control with heavy strikes and takedowns, handing Perreira the first loss of his professional career. The victory improved Cesar's promotional record to 2-0 and extended his overall winning streak to 10.
Following the win, Cesar outlined his ambition to challenge reigning ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Avazbek Kholmirzaev next year. However, Cesar stated he wants one more preparatory test first, naming former division champion Yuya Wakamatsu as an ideal opponent before competing for the belt.
