Visitors dominate the opening one-day contest, with the SA skipper and WA firebrand the headline acts

Australia A secured a 125-run victory over India A in their opening one-day contest in Puducherry, powered by Nathan McSweeney's century and Mahli Beardman's four-wicket haul. Australia A posted 274 before bowling out the hosts for 149. Beardman, competing in just his third match back following a back stress injury, claimed three wickets in his opening 12 deliveries and finished with impressive figures of 4-23.
McSweeney rescued the tourists from trouble at 5-87, scoring 123 and combining with Will Sutherland for a pivotal 141-run sixth-wicket partnership. Sutherland added 77 crucial runs to help build the defendable total. The victory gave Australia A a 1-0 lead in the three-match one-day series.
