Spain secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Croatia on Tuesday to clinch a spot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals. Substitute Mikel Merino starred as the hero for Luis de la Fuente's side, scoring both goals to extend Spain's historic unbeaten run to 42 matches.
Croatia took an early lead through an Ivan Perisic header before Perisic was later sent off for a second yellow card. Merino equalized on an assist from Dani Olmo at the hour mark, before scoring the stoppage-time winner from a Martín Zubimendi pass.
