Steven Gerrard spent almost his entire career at Anfield despite major interest from some of the world's biggest clubs

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard revealed that a potential move to Real Madrid previously played on his mind, though he holds no regrets about staying at Anfield. Speaking on the Open Goal podcast with Paul Slane, Gerrard explained that while playing abroad occasionally crossed his mind, his love for Liverpool, competing for trophies, and being club captain ultimately kept him from leaving.
Gerrard also reflected on feeling insecure under former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, noting he considered departures when he felt unvalued. He admitted that interest came from Chelsea as well as Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan and Real Madrid, expressing regret only over flirting with transfer rumors during that period.
