Portland Trail Blazers point guard Scoot Henderson is unlikely to sign a contract extension this offseason, according to insider Brett Siegel. Henderson faces a crowded Portland backcourt following the additions of Ja Morant, Damian Lillard, and Jrue Holiday. Despite receiving trade inquiries from rival teams prior to the February trade deadline, the Trail Blazers have reportedly rebuffed offers because they still value his long-term potential.
Henderson is set to enter the season on an expiring $13.5 million team option and is expected to come off the bench. After playing just 30 games in the 2025-26 season while averaging 14.2 points and 3.7 assists per game, the former third overall pick will need to prove his worth amid intense competition for backcourt minutes.
