Any doubters were thoroughly silenced by Darius Acuff in his preseason debut with the Sacramento Kings.

Rookie point guard Darius Acuff impressed in his preseason debut for the Sacramento Kings, despite the team suffering a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. Selected seventh overall in the draft, Acuff started the contest and matched up against Luka Doncic, finishing the game with 19 points, four assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one block.
Writer Ian Goodwillie argues that Acuff showed he is the future of the franchise at point guard following years of instability at the position. Although Acuff committed five turnovers and shot 8-of-17 from the field, Goodwillie believes the rookie set a positive, aggressive tone for his career.
