Ryan Garcia has set his sights on Floyd Mayweather for a fully sanctioned professional bout, insisting the retired legend reached out to him first. Ryan Ryan Garcia Pushes Floyd Mayweather for Professional Fight @ Boxing News 24
Ryan Garcia has publicly called out Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a fully sanctioned professional bout, rejecting any possibility of an exhibition match. Garcia claimed Mayweather initiated contact and challenged the retired former champion to risk his undefeated 50-0 record. Currently, nothing has been agreed upon or signed between the two fighters.
Boxing News 24 notes that Mayweather turns 50 in February and has not fought professionally since defeating Conor McGregor in 2017. While an exhibition offers a safe payday, the outlet argues Mayweather is unlikely to risk his unblemished record in a real bout.
