Mike Tyson speaks in detail about his late mother, Lorna, her history as a "sex worker" and the devastating circumstances around her death in a new Netflix documentary

Mike Tyson has reflected on his childhood, discussing his late mother Lorna's past as a sex worker and her death in a Netflix docuseries. Growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, the former undisputed heavyweight champion witnessed domestic violence and experienced physical abuse at home before his mother died from cancer when he was 16.
Tyson revealed that his relationship with his mother strained as his confidence grew under trainer Cus D'Amato, noting she never saw him fight professionally. Following her death in 1982, D'Amato became Tyson's legal guardian, guiding him toward becoming the youngest heavyweight champion.
