The Chicago Blackhawks secured a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues to halt their early-season losing streak. Chicago carried a lead into the third period and sealed the win with late empty-net goals from Cole Smith and Frank Nazar, despite Connor McMichael scoring on a late power play for St. Louis.
Goaltender Spencer Knight held off an aggressive third-period push by the Blues, while Anton Frondell and Sam Rinzel also contributed to Chicago's offense. On the injury front, forward Teuvo Teravainen exited the game with a lower-body injury and will not travel to New York.
