Brown understands the fan fury but reckons targeting the supremo during his game of golf was over the line

Former Celtic captain Scott Brown has defended principal shareholder Dermot Desmond after supporters threw tennis balls at him during a golf event at Dunhill. The protest followed three consecutive defeats before the international break, including two losses to Rangers and a Europa League defeat to Ferencvaros. Speaking on The Warm-Up podcast, Brown criticized fans for targeting Desmond in his private life and urged the board and supporters to resolve their apparent disconnect.
While Brown defended Desmond's stewardship and praised past board leadership, he conceded that Celtic made transfer mistakes during the summer window. He noted the squad lacked a direct box-to-box replacement for Arne Engels and needs reliable left-back cover behind Kieran Tierney.
