Former Italy international striker Fabio Borini has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35. The forward had been a free agent after his contract expired on June 30, following a final stint with Salford. Borini began in Bologna's youth academy before moving to Chelsea in 2007. His career included spells at Roma, Liverpool, Sunderland, AC Milan, Hellas Verona, Fatih Karagumruk, and Sampdoria, as well as a single senior international cap for Italy in 2012.
