Fresh off his first goal back in Dallas, the depth forward stays home as the Stars seek offensive consistency against Buffalo and Pittsburgh without their gritty veteran.

Dallas Stars forward Joel Kiviranta will miss the team's upcoming two-game road trip due to a lower-body injury. The 30-year-old depth forward will not travel for matchups against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night.
Kiviranta scored his first goal of the season in Monday's victory over the San Jose Sharks. DLLS Sports reporter Sam Nestler suggested Kiviranta may have sustained the injury after blocking a Tyler Myers slap shot with his right leg during the contest. Colin Blackwell is viewed as the leading candidate to fill his bottom-six role.
