How Luke Ayling can still play a huge role for Middlesbrough this season despite tough start

Eric Paylor argues that Luke Ayling can still play a major role for Middlesbrough this season despite facing a difficult start under manager Kim Hellberg. Although Ayling has faced hurdles adjusting to Hellberg's expansive tactical style, Paylor highlights the veteran's leadership, forward passing, and infectious positivity as key assets.

Middlesbrough's defensive competition has increased with the signing of Callum Brittain at right-back, alongside central defensive options including Ashley Phillips, Alfie Jones, and Adilson Malanda. Nevertheless, Paylor expects Ayling to remain an important contributor.
