Lakers insider Jovan Buha suggested that New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby would serve as an ideal final piece for the Los Angeles Lakers. Writer Adel Ahmad notes that while Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, or Josh Hart would fit well in Los Angeles, acquiring Anunoby remains largely speculative given his vital role in New York.
Anunoby is owed approximately $42.5 million for the 2026-27 season on a contract running through 2029. Ahmad highlights that matching salaries in a potential trade would present significant financial hurdles for the Lakers, making a deal unlikely unless New York opts to alter its core roster.
