Former two-division champion Jermall Charlo has withdrawn from his scheduled October 17 bout against Koen Mazoudier after suffering an undisclosed training camp injury. The fight was set to take place on the undercard of the Sebastian Fundora versus Ermal Hadribeaj event. Jose Resendiz will replace Charlo in the 10-round contest, while no timetable has been established for Charlo's return.
The 36-year-old undefeated fighter holds a 34-0 record but has faced prolonged inactivity, competing only twice since June 2021. Charlo last entered the ring in May 2025 with a stoppage win over Thomas LaManna. Boxing News 24 notes that the recurring layoffs and camp setbacks continue to stall his momentum at 168 pounds.
