Former defender Glenn Loovens has been working as a talent scout in his homeland and beyond

Former Celtic defender Glenn Loovens believes £3.4 million signing Van den Berg will be a major success at Celtic Park once he recovers from an ankle injury. The 19-year-old midfielder arrived from PSV Eindhoven late in the transfer window but has yet to make his debut after being sidelined in a moon boot. Loovens, who scouts talent in the Netherlands, praised the teenager's physical size, box-to-box qualities, and goalscoring eye.
Loovens also evaluated fellow late arrival Jordan Lotomba, suggesting the former Feyenoord right-back was signed for squad depth behind the injured Alistair Johnston. Despite Celtic enduring three consecutive defeats under manager Martin O'Neill, Loovens remains confident that senior leadership and squad quality will help turn the club's form around.
