Pierre Mignoni has stepped down from his position as Toulon head coach with immediate effect following a poor start to the Top 14 season. Toulon currently sits in 13th place after winning only one of their opening five matches, which concluded with a recent 28-0 loss to Montpellier. The club accepted Mignoni's resignation after he determined a leadership change was necessary to revitalize the squad.
Franck Azéma will take over as head coach with immediate effect until further notice. Azéma, who joined as an assistant coach over the summer, previously served as Toulon's head coach from 2021 to 2023. The club formally acknowledged Mignoni's contributions to the organization's sporting project since his return in 2022.
