Everton may have made the task of securing Harrison Armstrong’s long-term future more expensive following the collapse of his proposed summer move to Nottingham Forest. That is the valid argument put forward by Patric Ridge in a ToffeeWeb opinion piece…

Everton may face increased financial costs to secure Harrison Armstrong's long-term future following a collapsed summer move to Nottingham Forest. ToffeeWeb columnist Patric Ridge argues that The Friedkin Group's willingness to entertain Forest's approach inadvertently strengthened the 19-year-old midfielder's contract negotiating position.
Armstrong, whose existing contract runs until June 2028, has developed rapidly following a Derby County loan and increased involvement under David Moyes. While Armstrong is not reported to be unhappy, Ridge suggests discussions surrounding the proposed permanent transfer gave the player's representatives a clearer baseline of his higher market value.
