It's time for the Maple Leafs to give this forward an opportunity.

Editor In Leaf writer Michael DeRosa argues that the Toronto Maple Leafs should give forward Zack MacEwen a regular opportunity in their bottom-six forward group. The 30-year-old signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract in free agency during the offseason after an injury-shortened 2025-26 campaign with the New Jersey Devils.
DeRosa notes that MacEwen has appeared in only one of Toronto's first four games this season, skating just 5:25 on opening night. The writer believes MacEwen's physical presence and versatility could provide valuable grit and depth when the team faces tougher NHL opponents.
