Championship’s highest IMG flyers Barrow call for promotion/relegation return

Barrow Raiders have called for promotion and relegation to Super League to be decided on the field, despite finishing as the highest-ranked Championship club in the latest IMG gradings. Barrow placed 15th overall with a score of 9.85, positioning them directly above London Broncos, who scored 9.77.

Despite London being expected to gain entry to an expanded 15-team Super League due to potential NRL investment, Barrow chairman Steve Neale stated that eliminating on-field promotion and relegation would damage the Championship. Neale reiterated that while the club supports strict minimum standards, top-flight places should be primarily earned through sporting merit.
