A new-look NSW team took nine wickets on the opening day of their Sheffield Shield season

New South Wales debutants Bryce Jackson and Jake Scott delivered outstanding bowling performances on the opening day of their Sheffield Shield season against Tasmania. After NSW won the toss at Cricket Central, Scott took 4-35 and Jackson claimed 3-36, leaving Tasmania at 9-241 at stumps.
Tasmania stumbled despite solid contributions from Ben McDermott, who scored 77, and opener Caleb Jewell, who made 50. After Jewell was dismissed by Scott, Tasmania suffered a collapse of 4-5 to slip to 5-108 before McDermott rallied with the tail.
