Borussia Dortmund vs. Werder Bremen preview: Hosts keen to maintain top form

Borussia Dortmund host Werder Bremen at the Westfalenstadion on Friday night looking to protect their perfect league record. Managed by Niko Kovač, Dortmund sit atop the Bundesliga table with four wins from four matches and three clean sheets. However, the hosts are managing fitness concerns over Julian Ryerson, Daniel Svensson, Niko Schlotterbeck, and Kostas Karetsas, while Emre Can and Filippo Mane are confirmed absentees.

Werder Bremen enter the match with eight points following a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Augsburg before the international break. Despite that league win, Daniel Thioune's squad recently suffered a 7-0 friendly defeat against FC Twente and face significant squad absences, including Felix Agu, Skelly Alvero, Jens Stage, and Senne Lynen.
